Born and raised in the hollers of Red Creek, West Virginia, Gavin Maddox learned early that life don't hand you nothin' but dirt and hard lessons. Raised by a working-class family in a town nobody remembers until hunting season, Gavin grew up chasing something bigger than the mountain line. He was the quiet kid with a short fuse, the one who stood up when others backed down - but being strong wasn't always enough. These are excerpts from my manuscript. It covers 25 years of rescues and body recoveries while working for the Orange County Sheriff's Department and the Orange County Sheriff's dive team. Every person I recovered was always done with the families in mind. I wanted to give them closure and bring their loved ones back to them. I will try to add 2 chapters a week. Land of tears and happiness, opportunities and world full of good bad and worse peoples

Ambers has been in foster care since birth. The only thing he has from his parents is a necklace that is plain black string with a piece of reddish white jade in a shape of a claw. Jessamine is a Dragon shapeshifter, which is the rarest breed of all, notices Ambers from across the street and instantly knows that he's one of her, that he is a dragon shapeshifter, but he has no clue of his heritage. However, the same day he has moved there, strange and mysterious deaths of locals pop up and to Jessamine and her family they look like the work of a dragon. All heads turn to Ambers, but could it be that he is being framed?

A lonely sheriff wandering the town meets a racer so far away from home. Ignited in him like a spark that will not go out is first anger. A fire of vengeance and disgrace. And then it is a fear of a kind that he never would have expected.
