"The forest made a mistake. You don't belong here. Go home, boy, before you get hurt." Billy's heart pounded, but he stood his ground. "I belong here," he said, louder this time. "And I'm not going anywhere." The wolf lunged, its claws outstretched. Billy loosed an arrow, his magic guiding it to strike the wolf squarely in the chest. The creature howled, its form flickering before it dissolved into shadows. Billy took a shaky breath, his heart racing. "I did it," he whispered, stepping forward
