Katie had a good life. She had a mother and father, and especially a twin brother. Although she loved her parents, she had always had this inseparable bond with her brother. They were like Yin and Yang. They complimented each other. He was someone she always wanted to be best friends with. So, for the first eight years of her life, it was nothing but happiness, or at least of what she can remember. That is until he came. Takashi Shirogane. He became best friends with Katie's twin brother, and at first she didn't care, but when Matt started to spend some more time with Takashi, she realized she had to share her brother. Sadly, Katie was too keen on sharing her brother. She had to get him back. **Slight AU where Katie (Pidge) and Matt are twins. Also, I know it says book two, but if you don't/haven't read the first book, "Like a Grape" you will be fine. You just won't understand the ??? chapters completely.**

Every night Shiro is tormented by dreams of his past, but he is woken up to find Pidge passed out from exhaustion in the lab, sobbing from what seems like nightmares not much different from his own. He comforts her and gives her solace but is worried if she finds out about his own nightmares. Pidge had them, dreams of her family. Of Zarkon and the Galra taking over earth, killing her mother, or of her brother and father dying cold and alone, thinking that she'd given up on them. But when she feels arms around her and a comforting voice who lulls her to happier dreams, she wonders who is the person who cares so much as to bring her to bed when the falls asleep in various occasions to be greeted by grotesque nightmares. Katie (Pidge) Holt was taken by the galra. Only knowing a few things about what happened. Shiro worries about her, Lance and Keith become more than friends. The small white cat jumped in Pidge's lap as she leaned on her best friend's shoulder. She rubbed KittyRose's green collar, ringing the loud bell before Takashi's malamute broke the silence in a small, tired bark. "Those stars look like us." Shiro pointed out. Pidge's green eyes followed his gray eyes and sure enough, she saw the combination of beautiful bright stars that made two figures, leaning on each other, a fluffy dog and an adorable kitten. --- Keith laid his head against Lance's towel, looking at the stars. Lance stayed on the water, surfing on the waves in the night sky. Keith was about to beg him to come over to him when Sapphire ran over to him. Sky followed her, quickly. Sky ran off eventually, leaving the female german shepard laying next to her owner. Keith pet her beautiful fur, rubbing under her red collar. Lance came over, his dog soaked. "Finally.." Keith muttered, holding out the word for a few more seconds than necessary Lance laughed at his boyfriend before pulling the blue towel from under him and wrapping him up. "We're leaving" He chuckled, picking his board up. -- Pidge is 17 Shiro is 19 Keef is 19 Allura is 18 Coran is 24 -- I wanted Lance's lion to be a turtle. Pidge's lion is named KittyRose because I heard someone call the green lion KittyRose though I call her Jade, but KittyRose sounds more like a pokemon. Keith - German shepard : Sapphire ;; reddish tinted brown fur with black spots -- red collar w/ blades and hearts on it (Why not?) --- Lance - Collie : Sky ;; Normal collie appeal with one blue eye one yellow eye -- blue collar w/ ocean waves on it -- Pidge - American Curl ;; Kittyrose (Obviously) ;; Light brown/orange with spot specks -- green collar w/ roses across it --- Hunk - Akita : Sunny ;; Gorgeous yellow-brown with white (normal appeal) -- bright yellow collar w/ suns across them --- Shiro - Malamute : Blackie ;; Black, gray and white -- black collar with purple swirls

Her ears were lowered, her tail dragging lowly as the ship rumbled again. "I'm sorry, Keith.." she whispered, putting her young child in a pod. "I love you.." she whispered as it closed and launched into space's grasp. "Let him live with his father please.." the galaran prayed, turning around from the pod, sadly. -- A young boy threw a handful of dirt on his best friend's skirt. "Lance!" She yelled, her italian accent odd and thick. "Be nice, Lanci!" his mother yelled, her spanish accent thick. The cuban boy crossed his arms as his best friend was still cleaning her purple skirt. "Sorry, just let me play alone." He grumpily snorted, turning his head, grabbing his action figure again. -- *TW!*

They never know how to forgive their parents, however, when they suddenly split apart. Pidge doesn't know how to react when Shiro takes everything that matters from him. All he wants is to kiss his wayward husband and love him with all he has, but how can he when Shiro isn't there? Shiro breaks himself when he leaves Pidge one night. Contemplating leaving the world forever, he goes back to his German childhood, living in the streets and bumming change from passersby. All he wants is the feeling of his husband in his arms, the taste of his kiss again. But how can he ever forgive himself when he takes Pidge's heart with him? Learning to Forgive, Loving to Redeem is the third book in the Redeeming Lions: Paladins of Fire series. This book will focus heavily on the small German town of Fredriksburg Shiro grew up in after Alfred von Schmidt adopted him. There will be German prose from Rosa Milch in this book, with translations at the end of each chapter. Learning to Forgive, Loving to Redeem, much like Asking for Forgiveness will have more mature themes. I am planning on including domestic violence, for it will play a vital role in Shiro and Pidge's split. Learning to Forgive, Loving to Redeem, will take inspiration from the Warriors series by Erin Hunter, especially concerning the Lions. The lions, when they are projected, will be like StarClan cats, frosty and shimmering with starlight. The only thing that won't change, until much later, will be the angels Shiro meets occasionally. I plan on answering a lot of questions in this book, while also bringing new questions to light for the next book. However, keep in mind, I will purposely draw attention away from the main issue to include other subjects, and other series.
