she may not have been born a stark, but that never made her any less of one. dinah stark grew up surrounded by people who were always the smartest in the room, which would've been fine if anyone had bothered to warn her how annoying that would get.
she wasn't a genius like her father, and she stopped trying to be one a long time ago. dinah had always been better at trusting her gut, throwing the first punch and figuring out the consequences afterward.
then she joined s.h.i.e.l.d, then aliens invaded new york, then she touched the tesseract.
probably not her best decision (whoops)
the accident left dinah with the ability to manipulate vibrations, turning the ground beneath her feet into a weapon and making an already reckless stark considerably harder to kill. becoming an avenger seemed like the obvious next step.
unfortunately, nobody tells you how badly being an avenger can fuck up your life.
between hydra, ultron, broken friendships, impossible choices and a family that's never been particularly good at handling its problems, dinah spends years trying to figure out where she belongs and who she's supposed to be when everything around her keeps changing.
saving the world might actually be the easy part of it all!
