This story combines both the special and the novel but there are few changes. It also features characters who haven't appeared in the special nor the novel. The story, narrated by Shinichi/Conan, happened when he and Haibara turned back into their adult form, goes on solving the case and confronted with their nemesis: the Black Organization members, Gin and Vodka. Conan was excited to take his life back as Shinichi, but Ai, haunted by her past, was afraid to go back being Shiho. Conan convinced her by promising to protect her no matter what.
