Izuku Midoriya died trying to save Katsuki Bakugo. One moment changed everything. Haunted by guilt, Bakugo enters U.A. determined to become the hero Midoriya believed he could be. Meanwhile, Hitoshi Shinso is fighting his own battle-trying to prove that a boy with a "villainous" quirk belongs in the Hero Course. As villains rise, loyalties are tested, and old wounds refuse to heal, Shinso and Bakugo must learn what it truly means to trust someone. In a world where one hero was lost, another must be found.

Shinso never had a good life. His mother died because he used his quirk on her accidentally while she was driving, and it caused her to crash. He had managed to crawl out of the vehicle before it exploded. His father thought it was Shinso's fault, and continued to abuse him every day for it.
