But... This story isn't just about a random hero in a random city. Shizuo Heiwajima isn't someone you'd call, ordinary. He is Ikebukuro's strongest man. He could also be the most violent one. Because of those... He's also the most brooding and tormented guy around. But, he never lets anyone see through his blue shades so even his friends, nor Izaya, doesn't know about what's really inside the tough and indestructible Shizuo. Sato Hoshizora is just an ordinary girl. She's just like every girl in Ikebukuro. She could also be easily ignored and unnotice. Because of that... She's the most observant and kind stranger in town. But being the way she is, most people who meet her appreciate her but eventually forget about her. When Shizuo met Sato, two incomplete puzzles will become one.

Shizuo is out alone collecting debts while his partner is in the hospital recovering from injurie's caused by one of Izaya Orhara's traps. One of the debtors offers Shizuo a chance to relieve some anger using a doll they made that looks and acts like the informant he hates so much. Shizuo eventually starts to realizes something is not quite right about thus supposed 'doll'.

Your parents decided that it was time for you to be independent and wanted you to live in another city. That's why you are standing in the middle of the streets in Ikebukuro now. An infamous city known for the dangerous gangs, psychos and a certain information broker, who causes a ruckus every so often.
