Peter Parker is barely holding it together. At 23, he's a graduate student, teaching assistant, freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle-and for eight years now, the web-slinging vigilante Spider-Man. The relentless demands of his double life have already cost him his relationship with Mary Jane Watson and strained his friendship with Harry Osborn.
When the prestigious Hardy Foundation awards a major research grant to his employer, Dr. Curt Connors, Peter is roped into tutoring the foundation CEO's daughter: Felicia Hardy, a sharp-witted and strikingly beautiful freshman at Empire State University. Expecting just another obligation, Peter is unprepared for the spark between them. Felicia sees through his unassuming facade, drawn to both the brilliant tutor and the mysterious hero who keeps crossing her path.
But danger is already closing in. Dr. Otto Octavius, Peter's former mentor from his childhood science camp, has reemerged as the terrifying Doctor Octopus, his mind fractured and his body augmented by powerful mechanical arms. Consumed by betrayal and long-buried grudges against the Hardy family, Oscorp Industries, and those who once stood in his way, Octavius unleashes a vengeful plan involving stolen technology, ruthless allies, and a volatile cold fusion weapon that could devastate New York.
As tentacles lash out and secrets unravel, Peter must confront his former teacher while protecting everyone he loves-including a woman who just might see the hero beneath the mask. In a tangled web of claws, revenge, and hidden truths, one wrong move could cost Peter everything.
Spider-Man: Claws and Webs is written in the spirit of the classic television series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, with a great deal of inspiration also coming from Marvel's Spider-Man produced by Insomniac Games. With intense action and emotional depth, this high-stakes adventure is full of pulse-pounding battles, tender romance, and Peter Parker's signature wit.
