He works for Hoefler, a kind gentleman whose only purpose in life is to make meatball sandwiches for Helvetica's citizens. While working, Equinox leaves his sister at home, where she is abused by their neglectful and greedy mother. As Equinox works to earn the money to move his sister and himself to a safer place, a stranger and his lasagna serving cart come to town, stealing business and profit with illegal blood magic. Equinox must figure out how to navigate this newfound rival and protect his sister with nothing but his wit.
