The harsh Russian winter winds blow onto the marchers as they descend down the streets of St Petersburg towards the Tsars residence at the Winter Palace. Led by an Orthodox Priest, the crowd of three thousand chant "God save the Tsar" as they bring forward their petition and woes to their father Nicholas II. Along the journey, they are greeted by a familiar friend.

Paige is not an ordinary 17-year-old teenager, she tackles 2 jobs just to pay for her mum's private healthcare. She is a checkout-operator at ASDA and a waiter at her local Café. She is also a shy, anti-social, awkward student at Westbrook College. One day, she waiters Aaron who changes her life as she knows it forever.

This was the world that encapsulated Freya MacKenzie, yet she never believed they existed in real life. That was until one killed her mother and she was kidnapped. Freya is thrown into a new world as she is taken to the vampire compound, with murderous creatures surrounding her. Her unusual ability to resist compulsion makes her a unique test subject for the vampires, causing Freya's world to become a living nightmare. Attacks, experiments, and fear fill Freya's new life with the vampires. Without any help from the outside world, Freya is left to rely on her unlikely accomplices - the two vampires that kidnapped her. Can Freya escape the compound and go back to her normal life?
