Two lovers. A beach. A decision that is not a decision.

Lila Hart has a three-step plan for her life in Portland: stay independent, keep her pride intact, and keep her cat, Moon, out of trouble. She didn't account for Dr. Ethan Vale. The boy who spent four years trying to outshine her is now the man saving her cat's life. He's still brilliant, still infuriating, and-much to Lila's annoyance-he's the only vet in town Moon actually trusts. When a " cat-mergency" forces them into the same orbit, Lila discovers that the boy she hated has grown into a man she can't stop thinking about. You know how some people complain about being single yet they never truly appreciate their lover ? Well, I know what your thinking and I'm not that kind of girl. I honestly don't mind being single or "lonely" I just rather prefer a star crossed lover. Like how I've said before (to myself) , Boyfriends are like Make-up, it's nice to have someone to "love" or so you think you may love them but it's not a nessity. I mean once you truly fall in love you just know it. It's like you known this feeling your whole life and you finally found someone to share it with.. It's such an amazing and beautiful feeling no one can truly explain. Only thing you can do is to explore that love and completeness with your partner. this short story was written by Faith Hobbs. will be continued..

I am doing a writing challenge in the month of June 2022 to write something based on a prompt every day. This is day 2. The prompt: Write a piece of flash fiction (up to 500 words) set entirely in a canoe. This one was especially hard for me. I was thinking about what to write all day and didn't finish until late. I had never attempted flash fiction or really heard of it. Trying to squeeze storytelling to under 1000 words is a feat, let alone 500. Ultimately, I had a really fun time trying to get it to work and I think I'm satisfied with the result. I hope you enjoy it!
