Today was my grandfather's funeral. I wrote and read out this poem without the third verse in it because when my mum read it she burst into tears and asked me not to read it, but I've shared it here for one big reason. Grandad had alzheimers. I was talking to my sister about it afterwards and she said that there was no point in trying to hide that he had it. It is part of my memories of him. So I decided to share on here with you, if you want to read.

What is sexier than shoulders? Nothing. Proof is staring us in the face. I mean who hasn't heard of the hits, "Baby Got Shoulders" and "Ms.New Shoulder". We can't over look how the sexiest fashion show to ever exist has not once covered up any shoulders. (That is of course the Victoria Secrete Fashion Show). Plus, a sountherism for bra is over the SHOULDER boulder holder. What could be more functional and sexy? If all of that doesn't convince you that shoulders are the most sexy part of the body, then I present you with the most compelling piece of evidence; in schools girls are prohibited to wear any clothing that exposes their shoulders. To be fair, there is a good reason as to why schools have a dress code. It is to train children to dress professionally and it's obvious. If you scan a cafeteria, all the boys are wearing suits and ties. What a relief this story isn't about society and it's effects. That would be boring. No! This story is about shoulders. More specifically a pair of shoulders that belong to Lilah.

Amber Thomas wasn't the kind of orphan foster parents would look at twice. She was fifteen, she had depression, she cut herself, and had attempted suicide multiple times. No one even cared she existed, except for Katelyn, Conor, and Hanna, her only friends. Six weeks later, after some crazy drama to finalize the adoption, their whole world collapses with two sentences. Even when everything comes crashing down around her, Amber struggles to find God in what is happening. And then, one song that her adoptive father and uncle wrote changes everything she thought about how God helps her. And she learns that, even when life is nowhere near understandable, God has never left our side.
