Izuku thought he was quirkless. Then at the end of his middle school years after almost encountering death he discovers his powers. The power to heal. He will be accepted into UA but rather than being a hero by fighting villains, he will become the greatest hero but not with violence and punches rather with his heart.

So much as getting Shouto to say one word answers was a long and consistent process of getting him trying to make the boy comfortable and having Endeavor away from the house and the boy has just said three without Touya doing either of those.
