After the Lights Go Down is a collection of one-shots about love in its quietest moments - after the applause fades, after the door closes, after the world finally goes still. These stories live in the soft places: tired hearts, gentle hands, coming home to someone who sees you when you're no longer shining for everyone else. Each chapter is its own moment, its own love story, written for when you need comfort, reassurance, or a reminder that being held can be enough.

Alice is spending her sophomore year at an equestrian boarding school with her horse, Cassia, and her best friend Brooklyn. It is all going fine until she realizes that she is here on a riding scholarship and for no reason her riding starts becoming worse. If she can win at nationals, she will be able to stay. It is up to her, and her horse.

Kayla Myers is an aspiring equestrian and a 17 year old eventer. She has lots of potential along with her Welsh x Thoroughbred mare and wants to go all the way to the top, just like everyone else at Oak Valley Equestrian Center. But, when things turn for the worst, will she be able to hold on or will Kayla plummet into a deep depressing hole of guilt?

This is about writing, as I think of it. Subjects covered will range from plot aspects to characterization, writing craft to just surviving as a writer. Mainly, Part 1 is a comprehensive list of things to do in order to create and maintain tension.

Letting My Song sing.

For equestrians, it's easier. They just find a horse, get on it, and ride. For wild horses, it's a whole different world of running and trying to escape. Val sees it that way at least. A wild Arabian in the Colorado Black Forest fields. Unfortunately for Val and any other wild horse who lives there, they're always on the run as people want to capture them and train them. One unlucky day, Val finally gets captured. It keeps getting worse and worse for her. Will things turn around for the young horse? Everything is made up in this book except for 'Black Forest, Colorado'! All characters in this are mine, and please contact me if you would like to use these characters in any way. Enjoy!
