But it's too late now, because now Evangeline has to go on a date. With each of her friends. It's a horrible idea, but Evangeline can't help but hope for something to come out of it. The book's main character is a little girl named Jean, who is fascinated with the subject of family origins. She has many friends who know where their family originally came from, but she herself, being of African American heritage, doesn't know where her family originally came from. She and her mother begin their quest to find out which country their family originated from. Together and involving other relatives they begin their search. The book is a guide for others in finding their family origins.

There are times when we feel nothing is going our way. The tunnel seems to have no light at the end. In fact there seems to be no end to our difficulties. We give in all our best but still the outcome doesn't show it that way. Patience is the key when life is taking you no where. Have faith and keep doing your best because that is in your hand. It's a short and simple story with a thoughtful ending.
