Shutendoji Stories

For years, people had been telling the same story. Deep within Mount Ōe lived a monster. His name was Shuten Dōji. He burned down villages, kidnapped people, and left nothing but fear behind. Akane believed it too. Until fate brought her face-to-face with the very monster everyone said had to be killed. Yet, what she found in the iron palace at the mountain peak was nothing like the stories she had listened to since childhood. Because monsters were not always as terrible as the fairy tales made them out to be. And heroes were not always as innocent as they appeared. When the truth came to light, Akane would not merely have to make a choice. She would have to change the fate of a legend.
