In 1908, three explorers from Europe are venturing into the unknown far north of Siberia, with the main purpose to find diamonds and gold for a mining company in Vienna, Austria. Even today most of Siberia is unexplored inaccessible, we can imagine how was one century ago and what mysteries are still hidden there in the huge forests that reach the arctic circle. Many weird stories circulated in the European newspapers in those years, about Siberia and some strange things. One year before the Tunguska event in 1908, the world was spinning towards globalization with political and economical alliances. Although many zones were cartographied theoretical but not explored practically unknown, the population in growth on the social industrial trends started massating in the urban zones, leaving behind the curiosity of the explorers. Woolly mammoth researchers in Siberia are dying from a mysterious and rapidly destructive bone disease. Dr. Drew Chambers, a New York City orthopedist, is sent to the Arctic by the investment firm funding the mammoth expedition in exchange for long-awaited research grants. Chambers identifies the source of the infectious bone disease, but not before the investment firm shuts down all expedition communications and supply access in an attempt to cover up the incident. The clock begins ticking as the orthopedist and the remaining researchers fight for their lives thousand of miles from civilization. But will they survive the triple threat - the bone disease, the Arctic elements, and armed men determined to eliminate the evidence of their experiment gone awry?

Rustik didn't like to talk. What he knew, he kept to himself. He'd seen the tracks in the snow and the fear in Dyatlov's eyes. 'So we're being hunted... and what's more, our leadership has been quiet about that fact,' he thought to himself. He pulled his skis up the frozen hill behind a long line of Russian coats shielding sweating students. Frightened by man or beast he did not know, but Dyatlov was leading the group out of the trees long before it was safe to brave the high howling Siberian peaks at night. He was unmoored, Rustik knew that... Zolotov, Doro, and Zina were uneasy, too.There had been strange sounds late in the night and that awful stench of rotting meat. 'Was that all it took to unsettle these seasoned hikers? No, there is something more than folklore with us here in the Urals, thousands of miles away from human settlements.' Rustik reassured himself with a grunt and adjusted his pack to excuse a cautious glance behind him at the frost-tipped pines disappearing down the slope. All that savage-hearted northland was silent and still and nature's will for that remote place focused on making all of life's attempts to infiltrate the Arctic tundra also silent and still.
