When they had different gods and goddesses, each with their own unique personalities and stories. Long ago, there were seven moons -- personified by the seven moon deities. The siblings were full of beauty and grace, and both humans and gods were enchanted by their beauty. Youngest of the siblings was Bulan. He was playful and curious. One night, he heard the god of death, Sidapa, mutter something about the moons that angered Bulan. This started a petty war between the two. Although if Bulan was being honest, he enjoyed this connection - however unconventional - he had with the other deity. * Sidapa has settled into a routine. Every night, he'd watch the skies and wait for the youngest moon deity - to exchange snarks and pranks. It was foolish, but it made his existence more interesting. But then a vicious dragon from the underworld, Bakunawa, started attacking the moons... and Sidapa only had one thing in mind: save the seventh moon, Bulan. DISCLAIMER: This is a fanfiction LOOSELY based on various Visayan (and some Bicolano) myths in the Philippines. I butchered the myths right off the bat (because I mixed different versions of myths from different parts of Visayas and Bicol) so if you're not okay with that, consider yourself warned.

Hmm,I guess this is the continuation of my writing prompt for Sidapa and Libulan *My first draft got deleted and it was almost finished,my head hurts. 😢" Okay,in reality there are 8 moon phases. But in Philippine Myyhology there are 7 moons, specifying Libulan as the 3rd moon child of Lihangin and Lidagat.") Basically, this is the actual order of the Moon Phases 1-New Moon 2-Waning Crescent 3. First Quarter Moon 4.-Waxing Gibbous Moon* 5.Full Moon 6-Waning Gibbous 7.-Last Quarter 8.Waning Crescent. What,I did to make Libulan as the Waxing Gibbous Moon in the ode is that I opted to remove the New Moon from the counting. because there's no light illuminating on it. 2-Waning Crescent 1 3. First Quarter Moon 2 4.-Waxing Gibbous Moon* 3 5.Full Moon 4 6-Waning Gibbous 5 7.-Last Quarter 6 8.Waning Crescent. 7 Okay, that's all.hahah. I really am inlove with them xD

"Please don't let my knees buckle," the young boy pleaded, his voice strained as he continued to run. There was no other sound around him, except for the pounding of his feet on the ground which echoed the beating of his heart that he felt would give way any second. There were tears streaming down his cheeks; unmarred skin that was softer than any female. He wanted to turn his back for a second to see if he was safe, but he was afraid that even that small pause would hinder his escape. From a distance, too near for him to disregard came the sound of dried fallen branches being snapped as the weight of what was behind him broke through in continued pursuit. A rush of adrenaline shot through his veins and the young boy ran, breaking into muffled sobs as his fear engulfed him. It was uncanny to not have any other sound from the trees that passed like a blur as he continued to run. The way was darkened by the shadows of the woods that profusely grew behind the school, yet, he knew the way like the back of his hand. He continued. The bright light of the moon was beckoning at him like a beacon. A sudden sinister hiss sounded a few feet away. And the boy pushed himself forward with the last of his strength. He was nearing the edge of the cliff. Heart beating like drums, body drenched in sweat, and his eyes strained from crying in the fear of what was after him, he jumped.

Death Waits or The Tale of Jaramarana Everyone knows that you can't bargain with Death. For Sidapa, the god of the Veil of Vijayas, is absolute. He is the true constant of life and the inevitable end of all journey. But can one run from the God of Death? The tale you're about to read is all set in the pre-colonial Philippines, in the land of Vijayas where all my Bagani Saga tales like THE SONGS OF STRIFE and TALES OF TIKUM KADLUM are set. This short story is inspired from a shorter tale I once read a long time ago. This, I guess, is my version of it? Hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it and do leave a comment behind!

This is my own version of an old myth. A re-telling of an old folklore. Names of the characters remain the same as that of the original version, but I have tweaked the events and descriptions a bit to fit my style of storytelling. This is a story of unselfish love between Sidapa (the god of death), and the boy Bulan (the moon god). It was handed down from generation to generation by word of mouth... somehow withstanding the rigid teachings, and indoctrination, of several colonizers who tried to erase all ideas and beliefs that did not conform to their own religion and way of life. This myth is a proof that long before my country was discovered, the people here already had a working government, a set of rules, a method of teaching. Allow me to whisk you away to a fantasy world where love was ardent, pure, and unending. Immerse yourself in the story of Sidapa and Bulan's love in a time when the world was neither judgemental, nor condemning of same-sex relationships, and discover why... The Moon Shines on Death.

On the peak of Mt. Madjaas, the god of death, Sidapa, watches the sky night after night-his golden eyes never missing the soft glow of Libulan, the gentle god of the moon. In silence and stillness, Sidapa waits... not to take a soul, but to feel one. His love is not loud-it's patient, aching, and eternal. For years, he whispered wishes into the wind, hoping Libulan would hear them. But how can a god of death ever hold something as distant and delicate as the moon? Can a deity born from shadows be loved by one born of light? This is not just a story of gods. This is the story of longing. Of stars yearning for the moon. Of one who waited-and one who glowed. Will the moon ever look back?
