The only problem was that she had failed. The Darkling had survived their battle on the Fold, and was now readying his forces for yet another war. Of course Alina loved her husband. Mal was her best friend, her partner in crime, the love of her life. After all, she had given up so much of herself so he could live, so they could be married.
