In honor of the student movement Day Of Silence for the LGBTQ+ community and allies, I wrote this short story

They were considered a model amongst their peers that displayed the very pinnacle of resolute loyalty to their faction's supreme leader, Megatron, and his self-proclaimed Decepticon cause. They neither had nor shown any qualms of serving him as Third in Command from under the veil of their visor--of which gave them the terrifying facade of being completely void of emotion. What laid beneath that abyssal visor however, was a constant, torturous reminder that would still continue to occupy Soundwave's mind - one that they would never forget--or forgive. It was the very origin to their silence. Yet, their once vivid memories of the 'incident' that silenced them had come into question when they started to remember their past vastly different, and the real truth suddenly became unclear. These newly aquired, hidden memories, might just change Soundwave's outlook on their continued affiliation with the Decepticons... . . . As the minutes tick by my life as a free black man slowly starts to fade away. Just looking around this dull and gloomy room feels like it’s devouring all my hopes and dreams.

Every time I tried to talk about what women still face, a man interrupted me - with his story, with his pain, with his but what about... This isn't just a book. It's a voice reclaimed. A collection of thoughts I was too tired to finish out loud. Of gender wars started over everyday conversations. Of moments where I wanted to scream the truth, but instead, smiled and stayed silent. Let Her is about the space women are still fighting for - to speak, to exist, to not be talked over. If you've ever said "it's fine" when it wasn't, If you've ever been silenced with a smile, This book is yours. Let her speak. Let her finish. Let her finally be heard.
