Deshaun Abrams, a rookie police officer grieving over the recent death of his mother, faces eerie obstacles on his journey home to Hawksand Hills for her funeral. Forced to stop in the peculiar, sleepy town of Addison Grove, he and his wife, Anijah, encounter strange locals and phenomena which unsettle them. Staying at the historic antebellum manor of General Alun Addison, now owned by the enigmatic Cordell family, Deshaun is drawn into a mysterious web of mind-controlled denizens and supernatural occurrences. Haunted by disturbing visions and a bizarre apparition resembling his deceased mother, Dashaun is eventually exposed to the manor's dark secrets. The Cordells, guardians of the property for generations, are entangled with a malevolent force intent on claiming all who have set foot on the premises, with the most recent addition being Anijah. Desperate to find her and unravel the town's mysteries, Deshaun embarks on a perilous journey from the manor to a sanitarium and beyond, armed with a few supernatural tools, novice detective skills and his indomitable will. As Deshaun navigates the twisted history of Addison Grove, he confronts the forbidden truths of both the Addison and Cordell families, while battling against the supernatural forces which they serve. Each revelation brings him closer to saving Anijah, while freeing a multitude of trapped, restless spirits along the way.
