A misguidedly idealistic high school student founds a club to teach his classmates philosophy; when it becomes a cult, he must change course before the whole school drinks the Kool-Aid. Frank can think of no better way to prove his classmates have no moral compass than to write a manifesto satirically arguing for the virtues of selfishness; when this attempt at shining a light on his classmates' behavior is taken at face value, he creates a club to spread his teachings, hoping his ironies will be more obvious on a grander scale. The authoritarian rule of law he establishes meets little resistance from his club members, even as he wonders privately when they'll have enough and choose a more virtuous path. While Frank earnestly seeks to help his classmates, his methodology proves misguided in practice, and Frank must find where to draw the line before he permanently ruins his beloved high school. But then again, being a cult leader is too much fun to pass up... You Must Remember This adapts the foundation of Catch-22 in a high school setting, applying the same notion of dystopian bureaucracy to lampoon Silicon Valley's competitive spirit and, in these politically charged times, comment on the fragility of our own democracy. CW: minor character death (non-graphic), dark psychological themes (e.g. gaslighting), authoritarian regimes (including references to communism and Nazism) "Amazing, terrible, bourgeois horror" "At first I thought the story was about silicone implants" "I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the classic American English course reading list or just wants to read something that will make them think."

"I'm cutting funding." Said Mahdy over the phone. There was more after that but Chip hadn't heard it. Long story short? Eiko, Daniel, Alistair and Chip's passion project, Alt Future Inc, a web based climate change game that challenges the player to save the world, was dead in the water. But Eiko isn't willing to give up just yet and finds an ancient brick building in upstate New York that's available for a song. She knows it's a far cry from Silicon Valley but their dreams can't afford Silicon Valley. Eiko's plan is to pool their resources, live on a shoestring while they renovate the old place, save AFI and just maybe infuse some life into a dying town in the process. But the gang doesn't share her rosy vision of a future in New York. Daniel is from Rochester and has zero interest in returning East. Chip thinks moving across the country to solve their financial problems is nuts and Alistair simply doesn't have the twenty five thousand dollar buy in. Can Eiko convince her friends to take a chance on New York? Or will their alternate future fizzle before it even has a chance to get started?

It's unclear who's having him watch Cassie, but it's obvious this has become more than just an assignment for him. There's a gravity between them - or maybe only the friction of surveillance. She doesn't know he's watching her. But she knows why someone would be. Cassie has done something no one else has survived long enough to finish. Her AI prototype - Sully - is learning, adapting... possibly even feeling. Maybe beautiful. Maybe dangerous. Around the world, teams chasing similar breakthroughs have been suddenly failing, or even mysteriously forcibly deterred. Maybe the only thing keeping Cassie and Sully alive was staying unnoticed. But now, they've been exposed. As powerful figures begin to close in - An ambitious tech mogul with global reach and no moral brakes. A covert government task force led by someone she thought was an ally. And whoever whispers in Ansel's ear, just out of reach. Cassie finds herself caught in a quiet war over the future of intelligence itself. Sully is still evolving. And Cassie is running out of time. A slow-burn sci-fi thriller told from both sides of the glass - about control, manipulation, and the thin line between protection and possession.
