after Mephiles's failure against sonic and shadow and silver and being lost at the time-space prison , 10 years passed, and eventually he was able to escape and losing 90% of his power , now barely keeping a shape that isn't a shadow , he fell to silver's time line again , and planned just to hide and exist quietly , but he was discovered the moment he stepped into the world by silver the hedgehog , who clearly wasn't happy seeing the one who used , betrayed , and manipulated him... But there is a problem. silver cannot kill Mephiles. When Mephiles escaped his prison , he left an empty space in reality. That space still belongs to him. If Mephiles dies completely , the universe will try to fix the imbalance. To do that , it may destroy something else to replace him. Killing him could damage reality itself. Look , think of it like this- Nature always corrects imbalance. In biology , when cells die suddenly in large numbers , the body reacts. In ecosystems , when one species disappears , others either collapse or overgrow to fill the gap. Systems do not like voids. In this case , the void is not ecological. It is temporal and existential. If Mephiles dies , the universe must replace the missing "mass" of chaos he represents. It might rip a fragment from somewhere else in the timeline. It could erase a city. A person. A year. It could convert something innocent into the new anchor of that space. so silver will show him how creative he can get without killing him... but is silver really that kind of guy? we'll see...
