Dear Mom, Dad, Tyler, and Tony Tiger,
Everyone always tells me that I'll be okay. They always say "stay strong". What they don't know is that I'm never going to truely be okay and I'm just pretending to be strong.
When Emma's family is killed in a car crash, she is forced to move from her beloved New York to rainy, depressing Seattle to live with her Aunt that she's only met once.
Her grief counsler, who seems like nothing more than the stereotypical dumb blonde cheerleader, has Emma start to write in a "Since You've Been Gone" journal to her family. As reluctant as Emma is, writing it seems to help. In fact, it seems as though her family is there.
Emma finds suprises in the rain, and figures out that even though life isn't always perfect, you need to embrace the gifts you have.
