As the battle reaches its breaking point, Sans is forced to activate the full power of his experimental eye and confront Chara himself. But defeating Chara isn't enough. Something else is inside their soul. Something that isn't Determination. Something Sans eventually identifies as HATE. After extracting the mysterious energy from Chara's soul, the immediate crisis appears to be over. But the investigation has only raised more questions. Why did Chara's soul already possess a black outline? What exactly is HATE? Why did it react to Sans' Singularity Eye? And what really happened to the Royal Scientist who created it? Deep beneath the Underground, an ancient laboratory begins to awaken. And something that should have remained gone... is coming back.
