On her fifth birthday, Ben and Jin happily gave her the pokémon egg. The egg had hatched immediately into a Riolu, and Emmaly and Riolu loved each other at once. Peace would not last forever as the Langit family got invaded. Emmaly and her parents were forced to retreat as the two brothers held the invaders off. They were never seen again after that. At age thirteen, Emmaly takes Riolu and runs away from home to start her own journey. Join Emmaly, Riolu, and their new friend Maxx on their journey as they meet all kinds of pokémon, fight all sorts of battles, and search for clues to find out what happened to her favorite older brothers.

Lumiose Academy is the leading Pokémon school in the entire world. Originating in Lumiose City in the Kalos Region, this school was created by the Pokémon League amid a surge in unqualified trainers. The school eventually branched to other regions, starting with the Sinnoh Region. A key part of Lumiose Academy is the Research Task that each student does.
