Cadenza Williams is Niklaus Mikaelson's best friend. She is a heretic siphoner. The two became friends in 1223 when Cadenza was on her deathbed. Nik turned her and four years later, Cadenza was cast out by yet another coven. Cadenza has never met Niklaus' siblings, though she has heard many things about them from him, good and bad. The two bonded over being outcasts of society and feared by all because of their abilities. Cadenza had to leave Niklaus in the 1400s when his father, Mikael, found him, causing him to flee. It was partially Cadenza's fault, or so she thought, as she can't drink human blood, seeing as it causes a reaction similar to a vampire's to vervain or a werewolf's to wolfsbane. They promised each other to keep in touch and have done well to keep that promise. In present-day New Orleans, Cadenza shares her musical talent with the city by being a street performer. Niklaus returned to New Orleans recently, with his siblings and enemies following close behind. Cadenza and Niklaus have reconnected. She made him promise to call her if an extreme emergency occurred. What will happen when Cadenza discovers that her mates are two of Niklaus' siblings and two of his enemies?
