The loss of someone, even having thought they lost them when you didn't, makes a person learn just how much that person is important to them and Sirius finds himself responding when he realizes he could have lost Marlene just like he did Regulus. It wasn't all bad, he had friends, loves, and family to brighten his life pot marked by tragedy. He focuses on happy memories while locked away on a rock in the ocean. The guilt, pain, and horror packed in his short 21 years come flooding back throughout the thirteen years he wastes away for a crime he didn't commit, away from a godson he should be raising himself.

The day's Ginny's birthday. Day 11th August 1981. Voldemort never existed but the world was plagued by Grindelwald, whom Dumbledore's subdued for the last 35 years. What happens when a helpless, desperate woman leaves her only son for the Weasleys to take care of whilst providing enough of wealth for them to use before she dies untimely. Well, essential shitload of a fuckton of chaos. And also, a little spoiler, he gains magical powers after 15-17 years of life.
