Sixteen Stories

Just like every other year sixteen remains the same

This is me. Through thick and thin, the good and bad. I tend to be forgetful when actually writing however. So you'll manage to see tidbits into my head. Enjoy the show. I know I sure will.

Allie is probably one of the worst decision makers anyone has ever met. She is a 16 year old girl who has never had a "first anything". No first kiss. No first boyfriend. Still a virgin. Soon she will turn 17 and all she wants is for her crush since third grade to like her. She will go long ways to impress him, and maybe even get into some trouble. "I'm so sorry Ms. Kim... I mean, one year back, your disease wasn't spreading that fast and now... You might only have less than six months, from what I see here on the results that you sent me..." Dr. Sarah said on the phone. I stood there, slowly bringing my phone down, away from my ears. Expressionless. Then suddenly, I felt a tear stream down on my face. How do you live life in its fullest? Considering that you only have a few months left? How do you tell other people that you're soon going to die? Considering that your family isn't okay? And how do you continue to love? Considering that you don't want to hurt the person you love the most?

Maybe, the world did, in fact, not end. But my ability to feel did. And maybe, you're not the bad guy I paint you out to be-maybe you were just a 17 year old boy who didn't know better then. But did my young heart deserve all the hell it's been through, because you were "young" and "didn't know better"? After everything that we've been through, did I really deserve that kind of treatment? Did I deserve all of those at 16? You were everything that my 16 year old heart wanted. It's been months, I'm almost 18 now. For the last remaining days of 2023, I will fill this with "us", so I can let everything go and finally close out this chapter of us as I welcome 2024.
