In the depths of the Underworld, two skeletal enforcers, Styx, the unbreakable sentinel, and Ozias, the brilliant disruptor, have spent a century and a quarter serving the Witch goddess Circe as her perfect, obedient weapons. They were forged to strike, to endure, to never question the fire that binds them. They were created as weapons. They were never meant to have inner lives. They were never meant to have preferences. They were never meant to have attachments. They were never meant to have each other. So, when they begin to feel something romantic, something that is theirs, not Circe's, it becomes an act of rebellion, of selfhood, of freedom. Bound by creation, divided by philosophy, and drawn together by a connection neither can name, the two must decide whether to remain the Witch's perfect instruments, or become something far more dangerous than any god ever intended.
