One week during her winter break, Winter and her family leave Florida and venture to their mansion in North Carolina. During that week, Winter spends most of her time inside huddled by the fire, reading or playing video games. But this year, her entire family drags her to Sugar Mountain and tells her she is finally going to learn how to ski. When Winter's parents intrust Winter's brother Neville and all her cousins in the task of teaching Winter, Winter's parents expect them to teach her step by step on what to do. But when Winter's brother and cousins get bored of her falling every five seconds, they leave her stranded on the top of the slope. Winter thinks she is going to die up there, when a young ski instructor named Ross comes to her aid. Will Ross get Winter down the mountain? Or will she be left all alone again, sitting in the wet snow. "I laughed, knowing this was going to be the start of our story. I didn't know if we would become friends or lovers, but I didn't really care. I just knew in the pit of my stomach ,that from this day on, there would be a Winter and Ross. It did not matter how far we lived, or how different we might be, but our beginning would be crystallized in frost, and teaching me how to ski would be an everlasting memory." *Parts of this story is based on true events that really happen to me. My family has a house in North Carolina, almost every year we ski at sugar mountain, (you can go on their websites and get a visual of where this story takes place, all well as the real slopes that I mention throughout the story) and Winter's family is actually based off of my family (everyone's name, and the Winter's family tree you see in the story, is not accurate. Everyone is much older then I say they are, but I am still the oldest.) Overall, I hope you guys enjoy this short story!*
