Watermelonhead
Blair is sixteen and lives in a small, remote town tucked deep in the Appalachian Mountains, where everyone knows each other and nothing ever really feels new. She has a close-knit group of friends, and they all go to the town's only school. Outside of class, they spend most of their time together-swimming in the creek, watching movies at each other's houses, and wandering the woods and backroads with nothing much else to do.
Blair lives with her parents in a house that sits on a quiet stretch of land, with a smaller home just off to the side where her grandparents live. She has three siblings: an older brother two years ahead of her, an older sister just a year older, and a younger brother who is three years younger. The house is always a little too full and a little too loud, but it's the kind of place everyone comes back to eventually.
