A J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit fanfiction that starts a little before the end of the movie/book and tells a story of what could have happened in between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Details may be slightly altered to fit the story. Thranduil looks around at all the death and destruction that lay amongst him, his people scattered throughout the mess. The Woodland King closes his eyes, saying a silent prayer for his kin and sighs. "My King," says a dark haired Elven servant, "the scouts are reporting an elk riding in from the north. They say she is massive, the size of two horses, and pure white. She's headed right for us." Thranduil snapped his head up at this news, wrenched from his previous thoughts. "No," he says, "this can't be, she died in Gorgoroth. The White Queen is dead." Shock and disbelief was dripping from the Elven King's usually stern and calm voice. "Or so we had thought." Said the old grey wizard who had now appeared at Thranduil's side.

In this short story a man falls in love in a tango dance evening, but the beloved woman belongs to a frightful skin-changer group, called Pantheras. The main character, Alfredo tells the story of the death of her love, Martina, and how he reacted unexpectably. The story is set in a world where humans are aware of the skin-changers, since the so-called Tear of the Veil. The skin-changers became very powerful and immersed in the criminal world.

Thranduil is often seen as a cold, hard, uncaring elf who is incapable of feeling love. In reality, he is broken inside from the loss of his wife, and never learned to deal with it properly, burying his emotions deep within himself and not allowing himself to feel anything at all. When he finds a girl with remarkable abilities, will she be able to heal his wounds? Will he learn to have faith in others again? I do not lay claim to any of J.R.R Tolkien or Peter Jackson's work, the only things I own are the parts of the storyline that I created and the characters I created.

Arya has a complicated family, her mother was the daughter of Elwing and Thrain, making Elrond, Elros, Thorin, and Frerin her uncles and Dis her aunt. Not to mention her great-grandfather is Thror. Her father? A Skin-changer named Beorn. Arya has never met her parents, her mother died giving birth to her and she only has gotten to know her father through letters. And things are about to get even more complicated. Now at the age of fifteen, she is told she must marry, and the person she is to marry is Legolas son of Thranduil, an arrangement made by her mother before she was born. Arya now must try to be who she truly is and please her family but things get even more complicated as time goes on and Arya struggles with many hard decisions that may cost her everything she loves.
