Jaime Kelly, also known as "Books", is the leader of the Lower Manhattan Newsies. She loves her Newsies like they're her family. Every 8 Days she goes to see her best friend, Spot, the "King of Brooklyn". Everything seems to be going pretty normal until one day when she and her brother, Jack, start a strike against "The World". But what happens when memories of her past starts to resurface? And what happens when she makes a bet with " King Idiot" that in 8 days he could get her to say 8 letters? Note: ALL CHARACTERS MENTIONED IN THE 1992 FILM BELONG TO DISNEY. Skittery is 12 and his life has turned to shit. He has no friends, his mother is drunk off her ass, and he generally hates everything. Then he met him.

When an alien race takes over the planet there's only so much you can do to survive. Anastasia Bloom lived with Her family in the middle of Boston when a huge alien space ship took over. They made there run for escape but not the whole family made it out. When her mother dies Ana is left to care for her two siblings Octavia and Charlie. Will they find anymore survivors and will there ever be a chance for true love?!

Lydia is a rebel living on her own, but when she comes across a peace centered town lead by a hybrid girl, she is forced to reserve her usual violent ways to protect the town from harm, but that's easier said than done. However, when Lydia learns there are others in the town like her, she and her new found friends devise a plan that could possibly end the skitter invasion for good.

The reader gets a Newsies costume from somewhere, and then they and their brother go to their grandparents, and their grandparents have a magic wardrobe and the reader gets pulled into the closet and ends up in Brooklyn, a little while before the strike and it is the plot of the Broadway show. And the reader has to finish the story to get back to the present time. What happens when they fall for the smart mouthed reporter?
