Their maternal family wasn't in the picture, obviously paid off by their paternal family, mother having died while giving birth. The only reason they were kept in the Syvenko family was that the Syvenko family values their image a lot though the Syvenko family ignored them, completely, except for paying for them and keeping them so they wouldn't fight for inheritance.
