Jaylen is a young 19-year-old from the hood, no parents, but a mentor, and he lives all by himself, sometimes accompanied by his childhood best friends. He knows no romance; he grew up alone without blood family, and he has crushed dreams. He's very talented, emotionally numb sometimes, loves basketball, and he aspires to be a basketball player someday. Nyomi, on the other hand, is a smart, caring, loving girl with a big heart of love and cares for those around her. Growing up, she was spoiled, but the money her parents spent was only a distraction from their divorce and horrible marriage. Things only got worse after the divorce of her parents. Her mom started heavily drinking and messing around with a lot of men, and her father became a workaholic and had a one-sided marriage with a woman she and her sister despised, and she despised them, too. What happens when a street-smart boy runs into a sweet, loving girl with love on her mind?

Medha Pineapple-Lover is an academically exceeding 7th grader who does not like pineapples (Minus pineapple candy). One day she gets an invitation to The Peer Tutoring Club, and of course she accepts this invitation usually only given to people from 8-12th grade.
