An original story based on ideas from the SLATED series. 'I am different. I have always been different' A metal bracket around her wrist. A wall in her brain that stops her remembering. A new family of strangers. To give them a second chance. That's what this is all for. But how is it a second chance when the chip stays in your brain forever and, with a click of a button, emotionless Lorders can end your life forever. That doesn't seem fair - the lives of many teenagers in the hands of some all powerful people, one bad day away from tapping that button and wiping us out. We've forgotten everything. What it is like to feel pain. Hurt. Anger. Violence. We've forgotten how to walk, talk, write. A brand new slate - a bunch of big babies. I've been different for a long time. Now it is time to make sense of what I couldn't before.
