Sretovo is a place where you don't just lose your way. You lose your reality. Welcome to the Velebit mountains, where the town itself feeds on your deepest fears. Sretovo has been a ghost town since the 1970s-a crumbling labyrinth of gray-blue stones hidden deep within the treacherous Velebit mountains. Yet, in the late 1990s, a desperate group of strangers is drawn into its twisting alleys, oblivious to the ancient heart pulsating beneath the pavement.Jaksa, a runaway mechanic harboring a dark past, finds himself entangled in Sretovo's suffocating embrace. Alongside Zora, a schoolteacher running from her mother's monstrous secrets, and Istok, a man obsessed with the looming mountain clouds, Jaksa is forced to confront a sudden, bloodthirsty wave of ritualistic murders and mass paranoia. In Sretovo, the town doesn't just watch-it purifies itself by bringing every buried trauma and human atrocity out into the light. But as the cobblestones begin to shatter and the boundaries between reality and nightmare dissolve, a terrifying question emerges: Are they fighting an ancient folk-horror deity in the underground catacombs, or are they all drowning in the toxic, hallucinogenic vapors rising from the karst? A gripping, atmospheric Balkan Noir and Folk-Horror psychological thriller that explores the devastating weight of trauma, guilt, and the slow-burning madness of an isolated world. But it's the enigmatic figure who saved her life, whose blood now pulses through her veins, that haunts her most. He offers her salvation with one hand and destruction with the other, his motives as mysterious as the power he wields. Mia can feel his pull, a magnetic connection she can't explain, but every instinct screams to resist him. Caught between those who claim they want to protect her and a dark savior who stirs something primal within her, Mia must navigate a web of secrets and betrayals. The Kurczaka Travelling Inn has been in Meluza Dovhun's family for generations, an open door and empty room to all sorts of guests. Suffice to say, Mel has seen her fair share of the unusual, whether from working at the front desk or helping clean out rooms. Really, there's not a whole lot that could surprise her anymore. That is, until a human shows up at the hotel's doorstep, and Kurczak decides to saunter off before Mel can get him to leave. Now, Mel's only hope is to hide the human's presence and pray none of the gods and spirits (or even worse, her grandmother) take notice before she can get him home. (Plus, her sister keeps getting into trouble with the rusalki, her mother is falling into serious religious practices, and the guests are causing trouble left, right, and center.)
