I never expected to die, let alone wake up inside a novel I had once read. Unfortunately, I didn't become some random side character. I became Ophelia Scilan Winchester-the infamous villainess destined to lose everything. Her family hates her. Her fiancé despises her. The heroine is loved by everyone. And according to the original story, Ophelia's ending is already written. Normally, this would be the part where I decide to change my fate. Unfortunately, I'm too tired for that. I just want to eat, sleep, admire the scenery, and be left alone. So why does everyone suddenly seem determined to get involved with me? Why does my father keep finding excuses to speak to me? Why do my brothers suddenly want to spend time with me? And why does my fiancé seem strangely different? I know how this story ends. I've already read it. So why does everything feel... wrong? If I already know how this story ends... Why does it feel like someone else remembers it too?

There has been a clock that's been passed down to generation to generation, to each of Old Lady Rose's descendants and current owner of the estate. The origins of the clock is unknown to the family. Although each member had their own theory of where it came from, everyone could agree on one thing: there was something oddly sinister about it.

"The first thing she felt was cold. Then she felt as though her lungs were on fire. As she opened her mouth to breathe, water invaded her throat instead. Harley opened her eyes and realized she was underwater. She swam upwards as fast as she could until she found the surface of the salty water. She let out a hoarse cough, expelling the water from her throat that scratched its way out. She inhaled hard as if just now discovering how good oxygen felt inside her shriveled lungs. There was still water in her throat and as she took more breaths, she started to choke on it and had a coughing spree. Once she calmed down, she noticed that the water was calm tonight and it had only small waves that moved her occasionally. She looked around and saw a pier to her left, the one with the broken boardwalk that no one ever visited anymore. Feeling more swallowed water trying to make another appearance, Harley swam to the shore until she was sloshing in her pajama pants on the beach. What the hell am I doing here? She had no memory of ever leaving her apartment. All she remembered was getting in bed and falling asleep to the TV's latest infomercials."

Celeste killed her dad, and now she has to pay the price. Luke almost killed his best friend, now he has to pay the price. As the two are trying to make sense of what they've done, they meet each other which blows both their lives to shit.

Lena, a young woman, starts experiencing strange and unsettling events. She finds herself getting up in the middle of the night and smiling at a camera which she couldn't remember setting up only to forget about it in the morning. As these occurrences continue, Lena becomes increasingly unnerved and tries to uncover the truth behind them. With the help of her roommate Rachel, they begin to investigate the source of the strange happenings. They soon discover that Lena's life is being manipulated and recorded by a mysterious force, blurring the lines between reality and surveillance. As the truth unfolds, Lena must confront the dark presence controlling her life and the sinister intentions behind it.
