Bound by status and a looming engagement to Lady Hayeon, Namjoon fights a losing battle against his own heart.
Seokjin, oblivious to Namjoon's feelings, serves with unwavering devotion, never daring to dream beyond his place. But when whispers of betrayal and war shake the palace, their bond is tested in ways neither could have foreseen.
As jealousy, sacrifice, and longing intertwine, will love find a way to defy fate, or will duty tear them apart forever?

Synopsis Scene:
A flickering candle cast trembling shadows across Namjoon's study as he stood near the window, his gaze fixed on the figure below. Seokjin, kneeling in the dim torchlight of the courtyard, carefully cleaned the prince's boots, unaware of the storm raging within the man who watched him.
Namjoon's fingers curled against the window frame. How many times had he reached out, only to pull back at the last moment? How many nights had he swallowed words meant for Seokjin alone?
He turned sharply when the door creaked open.
"Your Highness," Hayeon's voice was gentle but firm. "You've been distant."
Namjoon forced a smile, the weight in his chest growing heavier. Distant? If only she knew-his heart had never belonged to her in the first place.
