"Slumber // Dream to Recovery" is a look into the dark parts of a child with an abusive home life. It acts as a memoir of poetry, foretelling the painful and cataclysmic events as well as the path of recovery taken to get to a lighter place. "This book was written about the darkest period of my life. The time in my life where I was scared to come home in fear of getting emotionally beaten into the ground. This book acted as my therapy. After spending almost a year with this project, I feel much brighter than I've ever been. I'm honored to be able to share the dark and my light, with you." Blake is a new student at Girex High. He moved from Buffalo, NY, to Syracuse, NY. With his new move come along the difficulties of his family, which is falling apart more and more each day. As he makes new friends, he faces more challenges in his new life. He soon falls head over heels for the popular girl at school, but will this so called 'perfect' girl make all of his troubles go away or just start new ones? And is she really so perfect after all?
