A shining student fresh from law school steps into Lee's Law Firm for his first day as a practitioning lawyer. He puts down a box of items on his desk, in which he starts unpacking. First, a family photograph from several years ago with all his family members sitting around a couch. At the top right corner was his father who was sentenced to jail. He was wrongly accused and forced to serve 20 years for doing a crime he did not commit and his father was the main reason for him joining the law industry, to prove everyone's innocence. Next was a miniature Lady Justice statue, at the bottom with a plaque saying 'Ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat'. The burden of the proof lies upon him who affirms not he who denies. In other words, all are innocent until proven guilty. The last thing he removed from the box was a gavel, which his law professor gave to everyone at their graduation ceremony. In the words of his law professor, it represented that the law is always fair. As he laid back in his chair, he sighed. He wanted to stand up and greet his colleagues, but he had just finished unpacking and was quite tired. His workplace has a little name stand that was compulsory to have. The words 'Lawrence Smith' was emphasized by the gold on white. A lawyer, he thought, is willing to take any case that could be to their advantage. And he would take on a case of a lifetime that would change his life.
