The four clans by the lake are not the only ones in existence, but their influence stretches through out every clan. There has always been rivalry between ArcticClan and IceClan, but along time ago the leaders of all six clans had to join together to survive. HoneyClan easily blended with WolfClan, taking their name and leader. ElkClan accepted the remains of CharmingClan easily. ArcticClan-IceClan never truly joined together, each with their own medicine cat leader and deputy. Since then, ArcticClan-IceClan has never seen sorrow, almost no one has died before their time. But without their medicine cat, secrets will not say secret, and tragedy will strike.

Young Salmonkit is destined to become leader one day. After all, she has everything you could ask for in a warrior: eagerness to learn, limitless friendliness, intelligence, and natural talent. She makes a friend in Crazystar, the leader of ThunderClan, who warns her of an upcoming battle from the darkest force of all. But will her plans to lead her Clan in the Great Battle be spoiled by a tragic ending?
