She goes by many names; the fearless one...blood runner...chain breaker. She has lived through many things. She had seen many faces. But will any of this help her when Gandalf seeks her help in a quest. She constantly struggles to contain the beast within her, and with her nerves constantly on edge, she may not be able to keep the creature caged for long. Will she be able to keep her identity from the company? And if she can't, what will happen if they find out..,if Thorin finds out?...

Luna had never known friendship. Sure she had it in the hidden world whenever she lived there, but they weren't her real friends. The only real friend she ever had was Storm, a Night Fury male who never came back after he left the Hidden World to explore. She and many other dragons thought him dead. She wouldn't be surprised. But now Luna isn't hiding in the Hidden World anymore. She is of age to go and do as she pleases. No more guardians can protect her and bend her will to theirs. No, she is free now. But she is not going to let an adventure pass her by. When Thorin Oakenshield decided that it was time for the dwarves to reclaim their home, he heard only that Smaug had flown and not returned. Thorin had not heard that the dragon had offspring. After escaping the Mirkwood elves and the Orcs they are so close to their goal, and their homeland. But one of Smaug's offspring has seen them. Kili is injured and they have nothing to defend themselves with. Is this dragon a monster, as Thorin believes? or will it help save the line of Durin? The dwarves travelled with a common need to reclaim their home, and those gems would ensure the return of her own. Those who know the story know the grim end, but Laerornien's place in it deserves to be told. Her sacrifice did not end with her surrender of the gems, but with something much greater, and it saved the kingdom of Erebor when the final battle seemed lost. This is not the story you were told, but it may just be the story you were meant to hear.
