An ordinary 19 year old boy who lived in Gary Indiana for his whole life. But this year, he came to Hanstein University. His name is Michael. Will he and Melissa be strong enough to take down Don, or will they both be dead by the end....

The fruition of my dwellings on and decidedly heavy dosages of high-pathos, noir-themed Michael Jackson songs (specifically, "Al Capone" and "Smooth Criminal"). "The Mourner" is a vignette of sorts and a one-shot at that. Note: I did this almost solely for writing practice, so if you read it multiple times, you will likely notice slight sentence and wording changes (though nothing major, I promise) as I reread and edit this again, and again, and again as writers must.
