I hope that by writing this book you do not become more fearful of the wondrous creatures around you but find a new deep respect and love for them and come to see them the way that I have. The Guard goes on a journey to find the remedy, but while they are out there a teammate is the most worried about Kion out of them all: Fuli. She knew him as a cub and thinking about him getting taken away like that, it makes her sad and it doesn't help with the feelings she has for him. She tries to focus on the task ahead but she keeps thinking about their leader and wants to get back before it's too late. But what happens when they meet trouble along the way? I wrote this short poem, inspired by DH Lawrence's 'Snake'. It's a brief poem in free verse about the situation where a snake bites a man. Leave a comment about what you think. Would love to read your work too.
