What would have happened if Severus Snape went to check on Harry after finding out he was sent to live with the Dursleys? After finding the boy locked in a cupboard and starved Severus decides to adopt him to make sure Lily's son is truly safe. Follow through the ups and downs as Severus and harry live life together as father and son.

Severus Snape is left to parent his daughter on his own after a tragic incident that took his wife from him. When the school year starts and Susan meets THE Harry Potter, they become close friends. Severus is tolerant of their Slytherin/Gryffindor friendship, and notices the poor treatment of his daughter's best friend by his relatives. Severus must swallow his pride and cast aside his grudging attitude and a school rivalry to protect his late best friends child.

Defiance of authority and lack of respect did not source from Harry's arrogance, it came from something much simpler - love. Severus Snape has agreed to take in Harry Potter during the summer before his Third Year. Temporarily. Just until the end of summer and not a day longer. But secrets about Harry's home life are being revealed and things are changing too fast for Harry to keep up. Can he and Snape survive their time together? If not, it's going to make for a very long summer. I've moved up the blowing up of Marge to the very beginning of summer. This is 100% an AU. Almost everything is different and you'll see that from the very beginning. Adding to say that it's so AU that Dumbledore and McGonagall are married (he's been aged down and there's a whole post about it) and they adopted snape when he was 14.
