In 1990s Bristol, the lives of three musicians intertwine after the death of a prominent venue owner sparks an investigation into their local scene, unveiling a startling connection between other unsolved murders, disappearances, and an ongoing drug trafficking scandal. ******** Much to his own horror, Billy Holmer -- the frontman of a rising industrial rock outfit known as Black Madonna -- is deemed liable for the murder of Tatum "the Boss" Doherty; the owner and co-founder of a notorious underground music venue rooted in drug hysteria and sexual deviance. Approximately twenty-four hours later, Billy gets an opportunity to clear his name, but at a shocking cost: he must betray the trust of his closest confidantes, fellow musicians Sean and Donna, in order to secure not only an alibi but a reasonable warrant for their arrest. The problem is, Donna's survivor's guilt makes her an unlikely suspect, especially considering her current relationship with a former victim. And Sean guards a secret with emotional walls that are far too strong to penetrate, leaving Billy with no hope for redemption. That is, until a single chronological error unmasks the truth behind their individual involvement in Tatum's death, and leaves Billy with the realization that in an industry like this, one must break all the rules in order to rebuild them into their own.
