Jolene “Jo” Ellis works as a Social Worker and as a past time hostage negotiator for the police in Savannah Georgia. She is funny and sarcastic which she uses to her benefit and can weasel her away out of many situations that she always seem to find herself in. Her dad, Andrew, is the head Police Chief and her godfather, Richie, is the leading detective who keeps her in check and out of trouble. In comes Logan McCoy ex-navy seal and up and coming detective who moves from Chicago for a fresh start who happens to move down the hall from Jo in her apartment complex. As they get to know one another, a series of rapes/murders of young, strong, and single women happen around Savannah. Jo is sucked into the case and may even be the psycho’s next target.
