Going to college over seas, no harm no foul. But a new country all by yourself is a bit unsettling. An expensive apartment in a great town, you'd never think anything could happen to you. One grave mistake of opening the door leading into a spiral of painful chaos. Here in the land of no refuge. Here in the land you shall never escape.

He believed that serving others was the true purpose of life which resonated with the Brahma Kumaris teachings. Govindlal Vora identifies and explored the spiritual side of his personality after being associated with the Brahma Kumaris. Be it Shanti Sarovar in Chhattisgarh or Mount Abu in Rajasthan, he was regular and dedicated visitor at the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. The Divine Sister BK Kamala ji was aware of this spiritual side of Govindlal Vora and hence she would often seek his advice. Even his wife Prakash Vora accompanied him in his spiritual journey and was often found by his side during his visits to Brahma Kumaris. During American president George H.W. Bush's second year in office he had vowed to focus on the geo-politics of, and the dissolution of the U.S.S.R. The states of Ukraine, and Belarus had been recognized as candidates for independent nations by President Bush because they had already been states within the U.S.S.R. However, what had gone under the notice of President Bush, and President Gorbachev was the cultural area known by locals as Tresznikov. Many Ukrainians, and Belarusians knew well as to not enter Tresznicov as cultural tensions teetered on the edge of civil war. There had long been a separatist movement within Tresznikov that illegally armed themselves with smuggled in weapons from Polish manufacturers. This state of armament effectively created a different state with the Ukrainian, and Belarusian S.S.R. However when the consideration of making Ukraine and Belarus separate nations of themselves came along the geo-cultural region known Tresznikov to the locals went majorly unnoticed.

'Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption.' I always find John F. Kennedy's famous quote on communism a rather entertaining one. Not because I find it to be true or because I hate Russia: as a matter of fact, neither of those statements apply to me. What entertains me is the hypocrisy of it all. Did it ever cross JFK's mind that his own country was at war with Vietnam during his entire presidency? Or that the constitutional process of election means that one's chances to enter the US Houses of Congress are driven almost solely by the money poured into campaigning? The very idea that the USA never was/is disrupted by war or corruption is a frighteningly inaccurate analysis. And yet so many of us westerners are as deluded as JFK himself when it comes to communism: deluded by the idea that it is born from some kind of hatred and doomed to fail. Perhaps we can't really blame ourselves for our false preconceptions. After all, what else are we supposed to think when all the West has heard since the Cold War is the same anti-communist, right-wing claptrap churned out like a bar of Dairy Milk at Cadbury's World. The Cold War has left communism with a legacy of hostility and prejudice in the western world. A legacy which is unfair. For communism does not spawn from evil: it spawns from mass movements for the common good, just as capitalism once did. The USSR does not define communism: the failure of communist Russia was not due to communism itself, but due to the failure of Russian leaders to ever implement true 'communism' in Russia. Moreover, for the 99%, communism isn't a hindrance: it could improve your quality of life. This book is not a manifesto of ideologies or a plea for communism. It is the ramblings of a communist living in a capitalist world, and it's only aims are to dispel the myths, teach the theories and provide an alternative to decades of broken capitalism. And if nothing else, at least it kills time.

Paradigm Thrift: A Qualitative Study Exploring the Political Impact and Liberatory Potential of College Free Thrift Stores Hello, thrifters. This is my research from college about the political potential of free thrift stores at universities across the US. I created a free thrift store while I was in college and am now starting to freelance and create more stores at other colleges (hmu if you're interested for more information). I think this information is super fascinating and there is NO literature on free thrift stores (let alone their political impact). If you know of any such literature that I might not have found yet- please send it my way. I'm unsure how to post this with the footnotes but all of the works cited are included at the end. If you have any questions or just want to connect with me about your excitement on this topic, I would be thrilled to chat. What is a free thrift store? A free thrift store is a community-driven initiative where items such as clothing, books, household goods, and school supplies are donated and made available to others at no cost. Unlike traditional thrift stores, which sell items at low prices, a free thrift store operates on the principle of mutual support and sharing, with no monetary exchange involved. This initiative is very successful at small walkable colleges.
